A religious ceremony inside a church where a person in red and gold vestments, likely a bishop, is performing a blessing or confirmation by placing a hand on a young woman's head. A small group of people, including women and elders, stands around them in a supportive gesture.

Welcome Back to the Pulpit, Brad!

Sunday, November 16, 10:00 am

St. Paul’s is delighted to hear our own Brad Brunfelt preach today. Brad has been a member here for over 20 years. He has been active in St. Paul’s Faith Formation, Music, Outdoor Ministry and Vestry. He earned his MA in Theology from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 2020.

Saints Kamehameha and Emma

Wednesday, November 19, 6:00 pm meal followed by 6:30 pm event, Parish Hall

Kamehameha and Emma are saints who ruled as king and queen of Hawaii from 1855 to 1864. Their reign was devoted to good works, building hospitals, and they invited the establishment of the Anglican church in Hawaii. Their people had been severely impacted by a smallpox epidemic before their rule, and they chose to rule with grace and attention to the needs of their people. This interesting story from Hawaii’s time as a sovereign nation is an often-lost story in the Episcopal Church. And St. Paul’s own Mary Calantoc will be cooking a Hawaiian-style meal for us that evening as well.

Our Faithful Ancestors: Saints for Our Times

Supper at 6:00 pm | Forum at 6:30 pm

1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the Month: November 19 we’ll learn about Saints Kamehameha and Emma

Wednesday Eucharist is at 5:15 pm and occurs weekly, even if there is no forum or supper.
In the Episcopal Church, we honor special holy people who served God and others in remarkable ways. We celebrate some of the popular traditional saints, such as Francis, Hildegard, and Luke. However, we have also added important faith leaders in modern times to our calendar of observances, like Pauli Murray, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Enmegahbowh. This year our Wednesday forums will feature saints that we don’t always celebrate on Sundays, while exploring how their example can lead us for our current times. If you have a favorite quirky or unsung saint and would like to participate, please reach out to Maggie at rector@stpaulsduluth.org

Adult Faith Formation

Bible Study, Christian Spirituality Small Group and More

We believe that Christian Formation is for everyone!
We frequently host Bible Study groups, New Member groups and Book Study groups. Our current Book Study group is studying the Gospel of John, with its themes of light, truth, and believing (in the midst of tumultuous times). Bring your favorite Bible. Fridays, 10:00 am, in the Olcott Room, October through December, 2025

Deacon Pat is currently leading a small group, open to everyone, based on “Practicing the Way.” They meet every other Thursday evening. See the September Messenger for details.

For more information, please contact Maggie at rector@stpaulsduluth.org.

We Practice a Faith Rooted In Love, Curiosity, Hope, and Service

St. Paul’s is a faith community shaped around ancient practices of Christian worship that include prayer, song, study, and celebration. We believe that God’s love extends to all, and that Christ’s table is set for all who are hungry.
