A religious ceremony inside a church where a person in red and gold vestments, likely a bishop, is performing a blessing or confirmation by placing a hand on a young woman's head. A small group of people, including women and elders, stands around them in a supportive gesture.

Graduation Sunday

Sunday, May 31, 10:00 am

Please join us to celebrate all of our spring graduates this season — high school, college and beyond. We have invited all of the high school seniors to address the congregation at the 10 am service on May 31, and we will have a special blessing for all graduates.

Graduates of college or graduate level programs will also be listed in the bulletin and receive a blessing. Please submit names to the Parish Office by May 11! office@stpaulsduluth.org

Pentecost Sunday

Sunday, May 24, 10:00 am

This Sunday is the Feast of Pentecost, which occurs fifty days after Easter. This feast celebrates the arrival of the Holy Spirit, and marks the transition from the Easter Season to Ordinary Time. For celebrations of the Holy Spirit, we use the color red, symbolizing fire and inspiration. There will not be an 8 o’clock service this day.

Pentecost is sometimes called the birthday of the church. Please wear red to church this Sunday!

Adult Faith Formation

Bible Study, Christian Spirituality Small Group and More

We believe that Christian Formation is for everyone!
We frequently host Bible Study groups, New Member groups and Book Study groups. Our next Book Study group is discussing The Book of Joy, by the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Fridays, 10:00 am, in the Olcott Room.
Note: the May 15 meeting will be at 9:00 am
and the May 22 meeting is cancelled.

Another Bible Study group is studying the Prophets, with the Rev. Sue Sommer. The Old Testament gives us a wealth of other prophetic voices, all of whom spoke words not their own to leaders who did not want to hear it.
Thursdays, 10:00 am, in the Olcott Room. This group continues through the month of May.

For more information, please contact Maggie at rector@stpaulsduluth.org.

Plant Sale

Saturday, May 23, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

There will be a variety of donated seedlings, perennials, houseplants, and more, all available for a freewill donation to Laundry Love. Wilderness Hiking as a Spiritual Practice Selected Chapters

To wrap up our series on the saints and to prepare to enjoy the outdoors this summer, we take a look at a spiritual memoir by an author who brought the saints along on his wilderness adventures. We’ll share a PDF copy of the chapter we’d like to discuss ahead of time. Participants can purchase the book and continue reading over the summer. This is our FINAL Wednesday for this program year.

We Practice a Faith Rooted In Love, Curiosity, Hope, and Service

St. Paul’s is a faith community shaped around ancient practices of Christian worship that include prayer, song, study, and celebration. We believe that God’s love extends to all, and that Christ’s table is set for all who are hungry.
