A religious ceremony inside a church where a person in red and gold vestments, likely a bishop, is performing a blessing or confirmation by placing a hand on a young woman's head. A small group of people, including women and elders, stands around them in a supportive gesture.

Graduation Sunday

Sunday, May 31, 10:00 am

Please join us to celebrate all of our spring graduates this season — high school, college and beyond. We have invited all of the high school seniors to address the congregation at the 10 am service on May 31, and we will have a special blessing for all graduates.

Seniors who may not wish to speak, but may wish to participate in a more introvert-friendly way are also welcome to do so. Please let us know. Graduates of college or graduate level programs will also be listed in the bulletin and receive a blessing. Please submit names to the Parish Office by May 11! office@stpaulsduluth.org

Confirmation Sunday

Sunday, May 17, 10:00 am

The Rt. Rev. Craig Loya, X Bishop of ECMN, will celebrate Holy Eucharist, Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation with St. Paul’s, Duluth, on Sunday, May 17 at the 10 am service. There will not be an 8 o’clock service this day.

We have nine teenagers who have participated in the formation process in preparation for this sacrament. We also have one adult who will be confirmed and three adults who will be received. We have a festive coffee hour and art show taking place in the Parish Hall after the service.

A group of eight people dressed in various formal attires stands inside a church. Two clergy members in religious garments, including one holding a staff and wearing a mitre, are in the middle. The background showcases an ornate altar with candles and religious decorations.

Adult Faith Formation

Bible Study, Christian Spirituality Small Group and More

We believe that Christian Formation is for everyone!
We frequently host Bible Study groups, New Member groups and Book Study groups. Our next Book Study group is discussing The Book of Joy, by the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Fridays, 10:00 am, in the Olcott Room.
Note: the May 15 meeting will be at 9:00 am
and the May 22 meeting is cancelled.

Another Bible Study group is studying the Prophets, with the Rev. Sue Sommer. The Old Testament gives us a wealth of other prophetic voices, all of whom spoke words not their own to leaders who did not want to hear it.
Thursdays, 10:00 am, in the Olcott Room. This group continues through the month of May.

For more information, please contact Maggie at rector@stpaulsduluth.org.

Wilderness Hiking as a Spiritual Practice Selected Chapters

To wrap up our series on the saints and to prepare to enjoy the outdoors this summer, we take a look at a spiritual memoir by an author who brought the saints along on his wilderness adventures. We’ll share a PDF copy of the chapter we’d like to discuss ahead of time. Participants can purchase the book and continue reading over the summer. This is our FINAL Wednesday for this program year.

We Practice a Faith Rooted In Love, Curiosity, Hope, and Service

St. Paul’s is a faith community shaped around ancient practices of Christian worship that include prayer, song, study, and celebration. We believe that God’s love extends to all, and that Christ’s table is set for all who are hungry.
