Gather with interested folks to discuss ways that grandparents matter in the spiritual lives of children. Reflect on what is important for you, what you hope for, and what feels unclear to you. Elders and grandparents play a vital role in the spiritual lives of young people. Jesus’ grandparents are not mentioned in the scriptures, but Mary and Joseph receive support from many elders along their journey. Elizabeth, Anna, and Simeon are just a few. This Sunday we celebrate the role that grandparents and elder mentors have in the lives of children. We will bless new grandparents and invite children to come to church with their grandparents. There will also be a forum after church about grandparents’ and elders’ roles in the faith lives of children.
