A large, historic stone building with a slate roof is partially covered in vibrant red ivy. The building features arched windows and a tall, square tower. The sky above is blue with scattered clouds. Bushes and trees surround the structure.

Inclusion

A Ministry for All

When you gather with us for worship, you will see families of all shapes, sizes, and configurations: straight and queer couples with and without children, single parents, blended families, and single adults. We are a community that welcomes people with many different intellectual and physical abilities. You will meet people who are struggling to have any faith, people who are on long spiritual journeys but new to the Episcopal Church, and people who have been Episcopalians for generations. You will meet folks who are old, young, and in between.

Two smiling young people are posing for a photo. The girl on the left has long straight hair and is wearing a light blue patterned dress. The boy on the right, in a light blue shirt and red tie, is making a peace sign with his hand on her shoulder. They appear happy and excited.

Restrooms

A Note About Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

St. Paul’s strives to be a safe and welcoming space for folks exploring gender identity and expression. It is a community for families with a mom and a dad, two moms, two dads, single parents, grandparents raising grandkids, and more. It is a place where folks can explore their faith and their spirituality and their gender identity at the same time. We believe that gender is not a barrier to knowing God’s call and God’s presence. Youth groups include affirming and theologically grounded discussions of gender expression, sexual orientation, and sexuality. We are continual learners, and welcome feedback about our efforts to be inclusive.

An Invitation

Each week at communion, our priests invite the congregation forward with the following words from the Iona Community:

The table of bread and wine is now made ready. It is the table of company with Jesus and all those who love him. So: come to this table, you who have much faith, and you who can find none today. You who have been to this sacrament often, and you who have not been in a long time. You who have tried to follow Jesus, and you who have failed–Come.

It is Christ who invites us to meet him here.
